An Australian touring round Britain was playing on a small course in Devonshire. He was on the first green and about to putt when he was suddenly beset by a flock of seagulls.
“Piss off, will ya’,” he cried, thrashing at the birds.
A sweet little old lady who was sitting knitting near the green came over to speak to him.
“Excuse me,” she said. “There’s no need to speak to the little birdies like that. All you need to say is `Shoo shoo little birdies!’ Then they’ll piss off.”

The Trump Golf International project in the northeast of Scotland – the one causing tremendous dispute and environmental concerns – is on hold at least until June.
That’s why there hasn’t been much news coming out of the story in recent weeks; the Scottish Parliament has taken over the assessment and is promising a decision by early summer.
Last weekend, I played golf with a Scottish guy, Norman. He mentioned that the unofficial reason for the delay are the actual planns that Trump has. Trump wants to sell the surrounding houses to only Americans. And that’s the whole issue. On the other hand, the estate is in the middle of nowhere and it will supply a lot of jobs in the area, so that’s something for the Scottish governement to think about.
