Rain in the weekend, no golf

This weekend no golf for me. It was pooring with rain. To bad, because the temperatures were good to go, well. next weekend is off to the south of spain to play golf for at least 4 days. I’ll keep you posted.

  2. Talking about rain: I currently live in a tropical country (Singapore) where it rains over 110 inches (280 cm) per year, mainly during the monsoon season. I you happen to get stuck on the course during a downpour you’re in for an interesting game after that: no matter how good the drainage on the course is, it’s not good enough and everything stays muddy for hours. I’ve lost many balls after hitting off the tee into the center of the fairway because they plucked themselves so deep into the ground that we could not find them again – it’s like the ground simply swallowed them. Even after it dries up a bit, no matter what club you use there is absolutely no roll, not even an inch. The wet ground makes every ball ’stop on a dime’. Needless to say, this is also when we stop keeping score.
    Although it may sound quite bad it’s actually quite some fun. Running around and playing in the mud is like re-living some childhood memories…
